42T Conversion to 1x10
I have been running 1x10 for several years now with an 11-36T cassette and have argued that for most of the trails here in central Texas that 36T is enough. But as I have gotten older, I am beginning to think that there is a value in having a few more teeth in the back for steep climbs. My Shimano drivetrain tops out at 36T so to go beyond that limitation I needed to change some components and make some adjustments.

1Up Rack Lock
The 1Up racks are pretty much the best rack that I have ever hitched to the back of my car, I can't say enough good things about it. An option for the 1Up are the wheel locks that lock your wheels into the frame. While this will keep your bike protected, I always worried about someone coming along, undoing the skewers, and swiping the rest of the bike. Then I came up with a nice solution that is pretty straightforward.

New Trail Review - Dana Peak
We just made the trek up north to check out Dana Peak and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of trail to ride and we only hit a part of the mileage out there. It is worth the drive up there to check it out.

I Now Love Thumper - An EB Guide to the Trail
As an Enchilada Buffet (EB) rider, getting to the bottom of Yaupon is miserable - partially because it's another climb (not the worst, but a climb), but at the top, Thumper awaits. People say Thumper has flow, and I never believed it. Then, this year I became a convert. I now like Thumper and you can too. It's actually getting better and it will be a lot better in this year's EB. Here's why.
