As taxpayers we are all funding some of the best trails in the county, and these happen to be on the grounds of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.  Beautiful trails, perfectly maintained and tons of fun.  We took a quick weekend trip to Colorado and this was the first stop.

When you get to the academy you need to go through the military checkpoint, so be sure to have your ID out.  If you are traveling with someone who is active military, let them drive you in, it is a great time saver.  The trails are fast, flowy and full of fast downhills, but you won't find the technical features that you will expect in Austin trails.
